We are back!

Go Back

That’s right, Charlie and Donny are back!

25 July 2018

But who are they, you might ask? Fair enough. Let us re-introduce ourselves. In 2004 we (Charlie and Donny) uploaded our first episode of the Charlie and Donny show. We were around 16 years old back then. It was a ‘photo cut’ slapstick comedy show with caricatures (and not too smart) versions of ourselves in the lead.

We only had one simple goal with our web series, and that was to make ourselves and our friends and family laugh. And in this we succeeded more than we could ever imagine.

We have released 5 episodes that were received and viewed pretty good. Our 3rd episode even got 41.000 views! Back then, in a world without YouTube that was an awesome achievement. But to be honest, we didn’t really realise it back then.

Working on the show was a time consuming hobby, and a bit difficult to combine with our school and our lazy lifestyle back then. So we decided  to take a little break. Unfortunately, this break apparently took us 14 years…

“We only had one simple goal with our web series, namely to make ourselves and our friends and family laugh. And in this we succeeded more than we could ever imagine.”

But better late than never! Because we are very happy to announce that we will be releasing new Charlie and Donny episodes. How much? We do not know yet. Our current focus is to make the best possible comeback ever, and have fun while doing so.

In addition to the new episodes, we will also try to upscale the old episodes and make them suitable for current web standards. At that time there was no YouTube yet and every episode was created with the now prehistoric Macromedia Flash.

In the following weeks we will share our work-in-progress on our new work. Simply follow us on facebook and instagram to be a part of this exciting road towards the new episode.

Alright, thats it for now folks. But why not ending this first blog post with a screenshot per episode (2004 – 2006):
